What’s up my dove? It’s been three weeks since you heard from me and I apologise for that sincerely. I do not have any excuse to give and I won’t give any excuse either. Well, my life has been going smoothly lately. I am not as sad as I used to be and things seem to be going smoothly for me. God has been so good to my family and I and for this I worship Him. Please leave a testimony of yours in the comment section. This is very important as testimonies help to increase our faith and they also give hope. So please drop the comments and inspire every reader.
Lately I have been seeing a lot of sad news on the internet about people taking their lives and losing it completely. It’s really sad honestly.
How do you feel when one of yours commits suicide, a friend, cousin, brother, sister, mother or just any random person you were so used to seeing?
Lately, suicide stories don’t even have to be about familiar people to hit home. It’s just so sad that someone would be so pressured that they’d take their own life. Sometimes the struggles of life just get so overwhelming and that’s understandable. Please if you’re sad and you just need to destress or talk to someone about your thoughts and emotions PLEASE DO!
Here’s a poem I wrote about suicide like 4 years ago:
You never see
Nobody knows
The inner actions are a secret
Never ever exposed.
This fight
Is a silent war.
No one knows their plight
Yet we throw shades as strong as the hammer of Thor.
To all those who feel unwanted
To those who feel adopted
To those who dream of escaping this realm
The ones that seek an end
Like raindrops go
Drip-Drop
Let your tears fall non-stop.
Cry your eyes out
It helps a whole lot
Than taking an excessive amount of pot
Or overdosing
On codeine.
In honour of suicide prevention month here are some ways to spot someone that’s being suicidal. You can't always tell when a loved one or friend is considering suicide, but here are some common signs:
Talking about suicide — for example, making statements such as "I'm going to kill myself," "I wish I were dead" or "I wish I hadn't been born"
Getting the means to take their own life, such as buying a gun or stockpiling pills
Withdrawing from social contact and wanting to be left alone
Having mood swings, such as being emotionally high one day and deeply discouraged the next
Being preoccupied with death, dying or violence
Feeling trapped or hopeless about a situation
Increasing use of alcohol or drugs
Changing normal routine, including eating or sleeping patterns
Doing risky or self-destructive things, such as using drugs or driving recklessly
Giving away belongings or getting affairs in order when there is no other logical explanation for doing this
Saying goodbye to people as if they won't be seen again
Developing personality changes or being severely anxious or agitated, particularly when experiencing some of the warning signs listed above ways to spot someone that’s suicidal and how to help them too.
The list goes on, but these are some of the warning signs. You can drop some comments about more warning signs that weren’t mentioned.
If you’re reading this my dove I want you to know that …
you are special
you are loved just for being who you are, just for existing
no one can ever be better than you because they aren’t you
life has struggles, but together we can achieve more
you are beautiful
you are a wonderful person worthy of intentional and undiluted love
the chance to love and be loved exists no matter where you are
every day above earth is a good day
Stay strong, be good and I LOVE YOU my dove.
See you next Wednesday my dear dove.
Yours honestly,
Ebube-baby.
Also I saw the guy’s post too and it really broke my heart. May her gentle soul rest in peace ❤️🙏
Depression is really crazy to go through from experience, but the aftermath when I’m in the present, it heals my soul ❤️.
